Ever hear of The Great Loop? If you’ve ever been in North America on a smaller boat, you might have completed it already! As per Google, The Great Loop is the circumnavigation of Eastern North America, a continuous waterway connecting inland lakes and rivers with the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway and the Great Lakes. It's an inland odyssey, an eastern inside passage of unusual intrigue touching the shorelines of the United States and Canada.
Check out the map above! This is very cool in that is uses ICW’s, the Great Lakes and famous rivers such as the Hudson River, the Saint Lawrence Seaway, the Rideau Canal, the Trent-Severn Waterway, the Mississippi River and the Okeechobee Waterway, to get you to Canada and back! With 145 locks, 30,000 islands along the route, it sounds like quite the adventure. Maybe it’s time to take a year off, buy a smaller boat and check it out?!
